Year of Luigi to End March 18, Miyamoto Urges Tributes on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Veteran Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto has posted a message to close out the Year of Luigi on Miiverse.

The event, which saw the release of multiple Luigi-related games and merchandise, celebrated the 30th anniversary of the cheeky plumber's debut. "All good things must come to an end, and the Year of Luigi will conclude on March 18," Miyamoto said in a Miiverse post this morning.

From that date the two communities "Year of Luigi" and its corresponding "Developers' Room" will no longer accept new posts or comments.

"I hope everyone continues to share their thoughts on Luigi with people from around the world", Miyamoto said, urging fans to leave their tributes on Miiverse.

So the year will end, but Nintendo will no longer accept comments? Seems a bit weird.

Seems odd as well, but i can imagine the community will just dissapear. 

I don't think they've made a particularly good stab at it though, could have been done a lot better. I did just buy Mario and Luigi Dream Team so i'm still in a celebratory mood!
