Win a Trip to Japan with Pokémon UK Tournament on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Fancy a trip to Japan? Nintendo UK will launch a nationwide Pokémon X and Pokémon Y tournament from 1st March.

The company confirmed the event details this week, with qualifying events taking place at selected GAME stores and shopping centres across the country, and a Grand Final planned for London in April. Trainers across the country will be divided up into four different titles, each with the potential to claim some rather juicy prizes.

Ultimate Pokémon Expert - the winner in this category must be thirteen years or older, winning a week-long trip for two to Japan, the Pokémon Center and to see the sights around Tokyo. The first and second place winners will receive fast-track entry to the second round of the Play! Pokémon UK VGC event this Spring.

Junior Expert - The first and second winners will also receive fast-track entry, with the winner claiming a weekend trip for the whole family to Alton Towers theme park.

Ultimate Team - For two family members, one sixteen or older and one under twelve, to work together as part of a team. Winners will take away a £250 Nintendo UK Online Store voucher and a group ticket to EGX London 2014.

Pokémon Apprentice - Newcomers can enter this tournament, with the prize including £300 worth of Nintendo 3DS games.

The winners in each will be crowned during the Nintendo Grand Final in London on April 26th.

Will you enter the tournament for a chance to win a trip to Japan?
