See The Legend of Zelda NES in 3D for Oculus Rift on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Ever wondered what The Legend of Zelda would look like in first person 3D? One fan has recreated the experience for Oculus Rift.

Developer Ubiquitron released the project this week, which recreates the original 8-bit adventure in 3D, maintaining the sprites and pixellated look of the NES game. In the Beta players have access to the overworld and first dungeon, with the full campaign expected next month.

This looks really cool! I wish I had an oculus rift to try it on.

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

WOW Smilie Smilie

A good case for Nintendo trying Zelda in first-person, perhaps??

Cool idea, just terrible audio editing in the video. The music is so loud that you can't hear the guy talk.

Wow, i can't believe the effort that people go through to make such things. Great effort though.
