Eguchi: Animal Crossing Apps Could Work on Smartphones on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Animal Crossing creator Katsuya Eguchi was recently asked whether the series could venture onto mobile devices.

In an interview, Eguchi felt that Nintendo hardware - like the 3DS - lends itself to the style of gameplay that fans have become accustomed to with the Animal Crossing series. The 3DS's inputs, he feels, work better than smartphones when it comes to organising towns, creating and customising.

However, the series creator did feel that mobile devices could be used to drive fans back to the Animal Crossing experience on Nintendo hardware. One example was an app that could allow players to create clothing designs on the move, or act as a calendar for appointments to encourage townsfolk to return back to the central Animal Crossing experience on a more regular basis.

Do you think Animal Crossing accompanying apps could work on a mobile/tablet?
