Known in North America as Yumi's Odd Odyssey, Agatsuma Entertainment has today announced that it will be releasing Sayonara Umihara Kawase in Europe, exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, on April 24th, 2014.
The series started initially on the Super Famicom, with releases following on the PlayStation and Nintendo DS, but this marks the first time that Sayonara Umihara Kawase makes its way outside of Japan.
With her trusty backpack and fishing hook, Umihara Kawase uses her "rubbering action" to platform her way through and escape complex 2D puzzle stages, in a peculiar dream-like world. An online ranking system allows players to compete and compare their best times with others, so prepare to replay stages over and over to become the greatest!
Speaking about the game, Yasuo Nakajima, R&D Head Officer at Agatsuma Entertainment, says:
Developed by an all-star team of industry veterans, Sayonara Umihara Kawase is unlike anything else available for Nintendo 3DS. Fans of puzzles will have fun finding the exits and goods in each stage, and competing against others' best times shown on the ranking server. Fans of action games will have fun with fighting weird fish-like enemies. Umihara Kawase, the main girl character, uses a fishing rod with a lure, but the string of the rod was made by rubber.
