Mortal Kombat SNES Trilogy Denied for Wii U Virtual Console on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon has stated that there's no chance for the games to hit the Virtual Console service.

The man behind the series, and the more recent revival, was recently asked on Twitter if there were any plans to release the much-loved SNES versions of Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 or Mortal Kombat 3 on the Wii U's Virtual Console.

Boon simply replied "0.0%", effectively denying the re-release for unknown reasons. It's possible that some form of licensing or publishing issue might be preventing the classics from returning to the living room.

Would you play the original Mortal Kombat titles again if re-released on the Wii U Virtual Console?

Methinks it must be licensing/publishing issues - why wouldn't you grant a re-release when it (presumably) involves little to no work?
