The team behind Hover, Fusty Game, has explained why the Wii U version requires a stretch goal.
In the latest update, the team outlined the requirements for a Wii U -specific version, where the game would need to be tweaked as the system is "kind of pale in comparison to the technical ambitions that we have for Hover."
The studio would need to create a "unique version for the console with specific optimization" and it demands additional resources due to the scale and scope of Hover. Fusty Game wouldn't want to "release a Wii U game that doesn't have a good local multiplayer mode."
