Nintendo Tweaking 2DS Consoles to Address Security Function in CPU on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo are looking to tweak some of the components of the 2DS to address a security function within the CPU.

A letter filed by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), Nintendo outlined a change between the original Nintendo 2DS model, FTR-001 and the FTR-001(-01) as the CPU has a "different security function of the initial program loader that is installed in each model."

The core functions, which include RF output power, antenna and radio frequency, remain unchanged with the revised hardware.
