Nintendo president Satoru Iwata explained to investors how the revised business structure is coming together.
The new Nintendo building, now established as the "Integrated Research & Development Division", will open its doors mid-June, after the busy E3 period. The new offices will allow those who would have worked in different buildings, or isolated departments to communicate and work as a more closer-knit team. "We will create a space where developers from the four different R&D divisions can get together with others," he confirmed.
The new collection of developers and designers will also allow console and portable hardware creators to bring skills to each of the respective departments, and Iwata wishes to "establish an environment where unique and fun hardware-software integrated entertainment can be developed more smoothly."
It's not just about games either, as Nintendo opened a "Business Development Department" in March, in order to create a "new business structure" due to the ever-changing environment.
