Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (UK Rating: TBC)

The apes are back! They have never been ones to monkey around and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is no exception. One of the biggest of this summer's blockbusters, the film finds Caesar (Andy Serkis) still at the helm, but this time his growing nation of genetically evolved apes is threatened by a group of humans who have survived a devastating virus from a decade ago. Although they reach a peace of sorts, it's short lived, with the two sides coming to the brink of war…

Gary Oldman and Jason Clarke lead the human element, but bringing the apes to life meant Serkis and company acting in full body motion capture suits, with their facial expressions and words transferred to their characters.

After Rise of the Planet of the Apes breathed new life into what had become a sagging franchise, the latest outing for Caesar and his apes puts them back on a collision course with mankind - and firmly establishes Andy Serkis as the king of CGI characters. This could be one of the best of the bunch this summer.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is released around the UK on 17th July and has yet to be rated.

I thoroughly enjoyed the last two(?), so am definitely looking forward to this one.

Are you going to be doing more Lights, Camera, Action previews?
