E3 2014 | Rumour: Digital Event Around 30 Minutes Long? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Rumour: A listing from Nico Nico suggests that the Nintendo Digital Event could be just over 30 minutes long.

As spotted on the Nico Nico website, the estimate length of the upcoming Nintendo Digital Event could well be just over half an hour long. It's uncertain just how true this could be, as it's only an estimated figure, but Nico Nico were fairly close to the mark when it came to the most recent Super Smash Bros. Direct presentation (39 minutes).

Nintendo are expected to show the latest and unannounced Wii U and 3DS titles, including more NFC and GamePad-specific projects.

What are you hoping Nintendo will show during tomorrow's Digital Event?

So basically not enough time to show everything that everyone's hoping for, once you get out of the way all the stuff that we already know about and which will be touched upon without a doubt. My body is ready... to be disappointed Smilie. Call me the skeptical, but to me this just doesn't bode well, if you consider that the 3DS will likely take up two third of the time, considering it's doing much better than the Wii U, and then games that we already know about will be touched upong during those 10 minutes (Bayonetta 2, X, Smash Bros, Sonic Boom... maybe Yoshi Yarn and the Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei that we haven't seen in action yet) that doesn't leave much space for any big new reveal for Wii U. Then, if the recent rumour that only one new game that we didn't know about yet will be revealed for Wii U, then both this news and that rumour point in the same direction... and that in itself is fairly disappointing.

The only thing that could make it worse is if the game revealed is another Wii Party or Wii Music, or something along those lines Smilie ...

MAJORA'S MASK 3D ffs.

Trailers are only like 2 mins long at the max, but this is just a "rumour" anyway.

I'm pretty sure they'll show Animal Crossing for Wii U.

Is that one hour stream of an unannounced 3DS game still scheduled btw? When is that supposed to happen?

If memory serves right, Ocarina of Time 3D was first unveiled in playable form in a private presentation, much like that, too, as I remember blurry video footage taken with a camera off the 3DS screen, from that first presentation. So could be Majora's Mask 3D Smilie.

Still on the rumour front, Zelda Williams said in a tweet that she had something very special to do at E3 (and she helped promote OoT 3D back in the day Smilie )

If i recall, there will be the digital event, but then a live talk afterwards to go into depth.

Twitch doesn't anything scheduled until an hour after Nintendo's event.

But I wouldn't be surprised. We're not going to see game demos during the Digital Event like other developers have during their event. We'll see demos during the 19 hours of "Live from the Nintendo Treehouse" coverage to go over the games in depth.

It's a 90 minute event on Wednesday 9:00pm - 10:30pm EST.
