E3 2014 | Shantae and the Pirate

Developer WayForward has confirmed the launch of Shantae And The Pirate's Curse on Wii U as well as Nintendo 3DS.

The game, which was originally planned for just Nintendo 3DS, will now make its way to the Wii U eShop as well. Keeping with the theme and design, the console version will feature a blend of intricate HD artwork with pixel based sprites. There'll be, of course, off-TV play and the touch-screen inventory/map from the Nintendo 3DS version.

In Shantae And The Pirate's Curse, our hero can't use dance magic, so needs to learn new moves to get by - Pirate Weapons, most of which will have dual purposes - solving puzzles and taking down enemies. Another change is the "Metroid-vania" styled maps, with the overworld being "more than twice the size of the previous game!"

Which console will you grab Shantae And The Pirate's Curse on - Wii U or 3DS?
