E3 2014 Media | Art Academy Sketches onto Wii U eShop on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Headstrong Games and Nintendo will bring Art Academy (working title) to the Wii U eShop later this year.

Learn the basics of drawing, or put your expert skills to the test to create works of art. Many lessons, which unlock as players progress, help to ease them into the world of drawing with a range of levels - from beginner to advanced.

Charcoal is the newest addition to the series, with paint, pastels, coloured pencils and normal pencils all available to use. As well as drawing on the touch screen and displaying finished pieces of the TV, artwork can be saved to an SD card, and entire recording processes of designs can be viewed upon completion. Miiverse also allows players' drawings to be shared online.

Art Academy (working title) is due in 2014 on the Wii U eShop.

I wonder if this will replace the sketchpad app? And on that same subject, will current sketchpad owners get a discount as I'm pretty sure it was meant as an early preview whilst they finished the main game. Smilie
