Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto and Shinya Takahashi both shared on their thoughts on Minecraft for Nintendo consoles.
The increasingly popular open-world concept has been something that Wii U players in particular have requested since the console's launch back in 2012. Miyamoto, creator of Mario and Zelda, hasn't played the game yet but has "heard quite a bit about it", likes its style and feels that Mario Maker could be "something in a similar vein."
Takahashi said that the teams had "always thought internally that using the GamePad would probably make for a Minecraft that's very easy to play" and that if the game were to head to 3DS, it "could probably reach a lot of kids." He also highlighted how the game isn't as popular in Japan, and if Nintendo were to partner with publisher Mojang, it could "help make Minecraft more popular in Japan."
Finally Miyamoto teased, "Maybe we're meeting with them! Who knows?"
Would you create and destroy if Minecraft were to be released on Wii U and 3DS?
