Miyamoto Once Suggested Pac-Man for Super Smash Bros. Brawl on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Super Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai revealed how Pac-Man was almost a guest character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

He recalled a period, during the development of the Wii game, when Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto approached him and asked: "Can't we have Pac-Man as a guest character?"

At the time, Sakurai felt that "that's a little too farfetched" when imagining the image of Pac-Man as "his incomplete pizza shape." He notes how the reality of including characters involves a lot of different factors - like movement, individuality, consistency and comparisons to other fighters. "Most importantly, is it entertaining?"

Now years later, Bandai Namco is helping develop the new fighter, and Pac-Man has made his way into the line-up on 3DS and Wii U.

"I'll just keep my mouth shut. That's a good idea," Sakurai said.

Do you think Pac-Man fits into the world of Super Smash Bros.?
