Pokémon Artist Ken Sugimori Draws Pikachu on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Pokémon artist Ken Sugimori has posted a new tutorial video showing how players can put together an ickle Pikachu.

By using a series of simple shapes like ovals, sausage ears and circles, the ever-adorable mouse can come alive on paper.

Sugimori is best known as the Art Director and character designer for the Pokémon series, having drawn all the original 151 critters himself. Since then, he's worked as part of the design team at Game Freak, creating original Pokémon and characters for the games, animé and manga.
