Hardware Sales for Japan for the first half of 2014 have confirmed strong 3DS figures and average Wii U sales.
During the six month period, there was an increase in new hardware adopters, with growth coming in at 6.4% compared to the same period in 2013. However, software took a hit with 3.8% down on the same period last year.
Nintendo 3DS came top when it came to both hardware and bestselling software since January, however Wii U sits fairly low down in the chain, topped by the ageing PS3. It's not all that bad for the Wii U, however, with Mario Kart 8 being the fourth most popular game in Japan this year, so far.
