Modder Rebuilds Game Boy Using Raspberry Pi on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

A hardware modder has used a Raspberry Pi Model B+ to build a Game Boy that became damaged over time.

A blogger called "microbyter" had the misfortune of experiencing an exploding battery within an original Game Boy console. Using the now defunct shell, he was able to use the Raspberry Pi hardware and hook it up to the console to create a modded console, together with a new colour LCD screen.

There's even a pair of shoulder buttons on the back, used for Game Boy Advance emulation.

More details can be found on microbyter's blog.

What do you think of the Game Boy mod?
