Sakurai Talks Trophies for Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Super Smash Bros. producer Masahiro Sakurai shared a few tidbits on how trophies work in the upcoming games.

As with Super Smash Bros. Brawl, players will be able to collect and display a range of digital trophies based on a wealth of Nintendo and third party franchises. In today's Miiverse update, Sakurai noted how players can "rotate the trophies by drawing circles on the bottom screen" on the Nintendo 3DS, and how "rumor has it that the 3DS version alone may have more than Brawl."

He also confirmed that players will also be able to purchase a trophy or two, with even sale periods for certain selections.

Even though we got a cool Assist Trophy on Monday, this is easly my favourite update of the week so far.

To know that the 3DS version alone, the smaller of the two games, has more Trophies than Brawl, frankly blew my mind. Brawl was huge, and all this time I've been expecting Smash 3DS to be a considerably smaller game than it. Suddenly.. I'm not so sure, and I love it.
