Koei Tecmo on Rejected Female Link in Hyrule Warriors on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

With Koei Tecmo promising future content for Hyrule Warriors, could the rejected female Link be in contention?

Earlier this month, scans of the Hyrule Warriors accompanying art book emerged amongst the interwebs, with one particular highlight being a female heroine. Dressed in the traditional Hero of Time green garb and armed with a crossbow, the character would have been known as "Linkle."

Recalling the concept on Twitter, the studio noted how "it looks like she got quite a lot of attention", teasing that "maybe we should have included her in the main story..."

As for the main series, reaction to a female protagonist is something producer Eiji Aonuma would "like to take into consideration", he told Edge Magazine, but "that doesn't mean that we are going to change the main character into a girl."

Would you like to have played as the female Link character in Hyrule Warriors?

Oh, just do a swapped character model and a few variables for pronoun picking.
Its not like you have voice acting to worry about.

Linkle and Zelda the first lesbian couple in a Nintendo game...this is in response to the backlash of Tomodachi Life...you heard it here first!

So long as it's a completely different character OR it can be made female through character creator I'm fine with it. It's enough that girls crossplay as Link....I don't want to control a weird female version of him in the game.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422
