Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series, was asked whether he would consider returning to the series.
Having created the iconic RPG back in 1987, Sakaguchi left Square Enix in 2004, creating his own Studio - Mistwalker.
An in interview during PAX last week, Sakaguchi was quizzed on whether he ever wanted to return to the series he started, to which be replied that "I feel like I've been able to distinguish myself from Final Fantasy. At this point I feel like I'm doing new and great things, and I don't look back. So to be honest, probably not."
The game designer noted how he feels Final Fantasy has "actually gotten bigger than the actual creator", citing series composer Nobuo Uematsu as an example - when he "does a concert or something, people will say, 'Play some Final Fantasy songs!'"
Should Sakaguchi bring his touch to the Final Fantasy series again?
