Bayonetta 2 European Release Date and Special Editions Announced on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The European release date for the highly anticipated Bayonetta 2 was announced in a special Nintendo Direct. Three versions of the game will come out in Europe on October 24th, the most elusive one of which is a very limited special edition that includes physical copies of both the original Bayonetta, the sequel and an artbook. It all comes in a fancy packaging - a faithful recreation of The Hierarchy of Laguna, the book of angels that documents the angelic foes Bayonetta meets on her adventures. This edition is limited to only 15,300 copies, a very small number indeed!

Although it is not shown in the trailer below, the Nintendo Direct confirmed that there will also be a regular edition that includes physical copies of both games, in addition to the third option that's simply Bayonetta 2 by itself. Of course, both titles will also be available for download on the Nintendo eShop and buying one will allow the other to be bought at a discounted price.

I'd get the very limited one if it's not monstrously expensive. Otherwise i'll pick the two games package with the two physical copies Smilie.

Definitely waiting for price on the First Print Edition to decide whether I'll try to grab one or not. Heck, it might not even be available from where I order my games now! Smilie Sure hope the one that still has physical copies of both games will be, though.

The limited edition seems to be a GAME exclusive unfortunately, at £60. I don't normally order stuff like this but for Bayonetta I'm making an exception. (Had some reward card credit to knock the price down a bit at least Smilie)

Right that was a little confusing but i get it now, once they said "every copy of beyonetta 2 includes beyonetta one, but now it seems only the spcial edition and first print edition have that to be true, also it looks like they will each have their own box now regardless which verison you get.

I pre-ordered from amazon for £32. The description days it comes with B1. Is that not the case now? Very confused as by the looks of it, we have to pay more for both games unlike the US.
I hope you realize that is just for bayonetta 2 and dosnt include the first one at all.

The confusion came from the original statement "every copy of Bayonetta 2 comes with Bayonetta", which was made shortly after E3 and strictly talking about North America. The UK version of the E3 trailer already said that there will be a special edition with the original, which is obviously what we're getting. So it was mostly European retailers hastily jumping on that to grab extra pre-orders and NoE failing to clarify in a timely manner.

The single edition seems to be offered at a discounted price at some places, while the one with two physical copies is the standard price for high-profile Wii U games. Not bad at all for two physical copies and those who just want the sequel on its own are getting a cheaper deal. I'm personally going for both and will give my old PS3 copy to a mate, since I won't be needing that one anymore.

Hmm - already some issues on Amazon, complaints from customers who pre-ordered.

yup, seems to be regarding the £30 copy they've had up on the site for a while. It definitely stated that it included Bayonetta 1 before Amazon altered it, so this is their failing,
