Miyamoto on the Splatoon Wii U Visual Style on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

In a recent interview, Nintendo designer Shigeru Miyamoto commented on the visual style behind Wii U shooter, Splatoon.

Speaking to UK magazine Edge, Miyamoto feels that other games within the bustling genre have become "more realistic" and believes that "it's not Nintendo's way to do that."

Because shooting games traditionally aren't Nintendo's forté, the iconic games designer suggested that Splatoon has "to be different from what other folks are doing."

Miyamoto does like the genre, and believes that he's "always been rather good at making action games," using his producer role on Metroid Prime as an example. The controls is something that he is interested in, but decided that "we'd be able to come up with an unprecedented, but still appropriate, control system."

What are your thoughts on the Splatoon look and feel?
