Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Releasing 9th January in Europe on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo has just announced that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will launch for Wii U in Europe on 9th January, 2015. It will launch in North America on 4th December, 2014.

At the start of the game, Wingo strikes and takes away Toad and Toadette's only Power Star, stealing Toadette in the process.

It's all down to Toad to fight his way through 70 levels, to retrieve his star and rescue Toadette (who becomes available as a playable character!).

He can't jump. He has no special powers, spells or magic. He doesn't have an army of Toads willing to help. In fact, all he has is passion and perseverance!

The game is already attracting superlatives from respected sources, with Eurogamer calling it "The best Nintendo spinoff in years."

The game is to be released on the Wii U in November 2014 in Japan, 4th December, 2014 in North America, and 9th January, 2015 for Europe and Australia.

I like the idea of this game but after playing it I just don't have the patience for it.

Why why release it in January though, this would be the perfect present for children under 12. NoE really missed the boat with this...which parents have the money in early January to buy a £40 game when they are using their benefits to pay off that credit card bill?
