Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai recently commented on the naming decisions behind the latest set of games for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
The latest games, which went under the project names of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, kept their titles once hitting retail, and it's lead some fans to wonder why Nintendo hadn't changed the names to something more in line with past titles.
Games like Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, had, arguably a more distinct feel to their names.
Speaking to Japanese magazine Famitsu, Sakurai noted how the decision was to "avoid confusion among consumers," but noted how the "for" in the titles could well be seen as a number four - Super Smash Bros 4, perhaps.
Do you think Nintendo should have had different names for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS?
