Want to customise characters in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire? It won't be possible.
Whilst the option was introduced for the first time in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, the upcoming pair of games won't feature the option to tweak the appearance of trainers at the start of the game.
Producer Junichi Masuda noted how customisation was "really kind of a special thing for the Kalos region, which featured this kind of motif of France and really focused on this beauty and fashion aspect," and how this element was more suited to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.
This time round the team decided to focus more on "adventuring elements, so we don't have the actual free customization of the trainer."
That said, the games will feature costumes, clothes and accessories that'll help customise the characters in that sense.
Masuda justified the decision with having gameplay traits based on different regions, and how "everything we come up with always tie back into the themes of the games we're working on."
Do you think Nintendo should have removed customisable characters in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire?
