New Nintendo 3DS Sells Over 230k in Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Sale figures from Japanese magazine Famitsu have shown just how well the NEW Nintendo 3DS consoles have performed.

The consoles, which surfaced in Japan on 11th October, offer improved screens, additional buttons and processing power over the original hardware. Combined, both consoles found their way into 233,483 pockets during the launch weekend, however the NEW Nintendo 3DS XL (LL) outperformed the smaller model by almost three times.

  • NEW Nintendo 3DS: 61,151 units sold
  • NEW Nintendo 3DS XL (LL): 172,332 units sold
By comparison, the original Nintendo 3DS sold 371,226 units during its launch week, with the XL selling 235,974 units.

I am still confused at the mixed reports on if it has headtracking or not. Kotaku claims so....but I cant find any other source.
