Bring on the Board Game in Smash Tour for Smash Bros. Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo announced various modes for the Wii U version of Super Smash Bros., including a new board game mode.

The rumoured board-game feature has been confirmed as "Smash Tour: World Smash", a mode that's included in the Wii U edition, designed like a "fighting party game." Players use items, spin a wheel and roam a map, with support for up to four players. Once they've collected enough fighters/power-ups, a final battle ensues.

Also confirmed during the Nintendo Direct presentation was the re-inclusion of "Coin Battles", "Stamina Matches", "Event Mode" and "All-Star" feature from the past installments. However, the Wii U version also allows up to two players to take on the Classic, All-Star and Event modes to help ease the load and bump up the action.

Finally, the Masterpieces mode presents a selection of Virtual Console demos for numerous franchises - like Super Smash Bros. Brawl - for fans to sample timed notches of Nintendo's past.
