Stage Builder and Paint Mode for Smash Bros. Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Styluses at the ready as Nintendo are bringing an advanced Stage Builder and paint features to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

The Wii U version of the game was detailed earlier today and it will be making good use of the GamePad controller to add a dollop of customisation. The "Stage Builder" mode from Super Smash Bros. Brawl returns, but not content with simple building blocks, Nintendo have strengthened its appeal by incorporating the stylus to draw out platforms.

Players can also use preset platforms, objects and also define hazard areas to really rack up the damage.

In addition, those who enjoy a sneaky drawing or two can also use the GamePad to draw on screenshots taken during the heat of battle. Want to draw on a pair of wings on Villager? It's possible, folks.

Brilliant! Was eager to see how they'd include Stage Builder, looks infinitely better than the shite Brawl one. Paint mode's a good'un too.

paint mode looks clumsy, but the level editor is exactly what i hoped it would be.

Cock and balls stages here we come!

Exactly what I thought when I was watching the Direct.

The stage builder looks sooooo much better than the Brawl one. I'm glad they included it, I'll actually use it this time. I love the paint feature, too!

The one thing that I didn't like about Brawl's stage builder was lack of tools to actually build a stage with and also a very low amount of stuff you could actually put the stage together with!

This is should be great to play around with, I wonder what the limitations will be though!
