Over 400 Pieces of Music for Smash Bros. Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Eagle-eyed fans of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U have noticed a tidbit of information revealed during the recent 50-Fact Extravaganza. The game appears to have at least 437 musical tracks on-disc, ready for listening.

Super Smash Bros. has become more than just a fighting game franchise as of late; the series seeks to celebrate Nintendo's long and expansive history through trophies, demos, and sound test modes, and it looks like fans will have a lot of music to look forward to when Super Smash Bros. for Wii U comes out later this year.

Users in certain countries who register both Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U to their Club Nintendo accounts will get a small sample of this musical collection in the form of a two-disc soundtrack.

I hope a vast majority are new arrangements! Brawl was great for that, and it seemed they were a bit lazy on the 3DS one.

The music on every smash game has been fantastic, I agree that they were a little lazy with the 3DS one by comparrison but it still has a great soundtrack. They should really reach out to fans to submit remixes of songs. There are already tonnes on YouTube, I bet Nintendo could easily run a competition for this if they are short of musical composers!

Bit too late for that, but they could still add the SD card function that Excitetruck had back on the Wii to play your own music. That would be awesome!

The Smash Bros. for 3DS soundtrack was definitely impacted by the small file size of the 3DS cart (each stage features just 2 possible songs, as opposed to 5 on the Wii U version). Having a 50GB disc definitely helps; good to see Nintendo putting it to good use.

A fan remix contest would be a lot of fun!
