Amiibo Functionality Confirmed for Hyrule Warriors on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

During the Nintendo Direct this evening it was confirmed that along with Smash Bros and Mario Kart, Hyrule Warriors will be supporting the amiibo.

Though they were light on the details. So far only showing that the Link amiibo will create the Spinner disk weapon from Twilight Princess, they have confirmed that all 12 amiibo will have affects in game, even if it's just rewarding the player with random items or weapons.

This functionality will be included in the next big patch of the game, at the same time the first big DLC pack will be released. This has no exact date as of yet, just November.

It's great to see Nintendo continue to support the Amiibo figures by spreading them into further games, there are more games on the horizon already rumored to provide support and hopefully this is a sign of them being added to more existing games too.

What do you think of the amiibo integration with Hyrule Warriors?

I always hoped Nintendo would use this item as a weapon for this game.

It is not wise to speak on subjects you do not know all facts about, nor is it smart to judge a game based on looks alone. PSN: Nintendo_Gamer 3DS: 4296-3029-7422
