Iwata on Plans to Bring Mii to Smart Devices on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has outlined plans to develop Mii support for smart devices.

Addressing investors in a Question and Answer session, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata noted how the company have plans to expand the Mii platform onto smart devices, for example "if consumers were able to create their profile icons on social media using Mii, we believe consumers would be happy."

He believes that the company will release Mii support for smart devices when Nintendo are "confident it is capable of making a solid bond with our consumers" and feels that "many people will be interested enough to try it."

Nintendo won't be releasing it this year, as Iwata feels that "there is still room for improvement."

Would you use Mii characters on smart devices?

It would be really awesome if you could create your Mii on your phone and then transfer it over (via NFC?) to your Wii U.

For example, if you were going to a friend's house you could make your Mii ahead of time and instantly transfer it when ready to play. No need to spend time making it there.
