The Game Awards to Replace Annual VGA on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The Game Awards 2014 will be replacing the decade-old VGAs, with Geoff Keighley to host.

Previous channel SpikeTV will no longer provide a platform to air the event, and instead Keighley will be producing the show, with filming commencing 5th December at the Axis Theater in Las Vegas. The Game Awards 2014 will be airing online, with a platform to be confirmed.

There'll be an advisory board - including Reggie Fils-Aime (President and COO, Nintendo of America), Yves Guillemot (Co-Founder and CEO, Ubisoft), Hideo Kojima (Director, Kojima Productions), Shawn Layden (CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment America), Peter Moore (COO, Electronic Arts), Rockstar Games, Phil Spencer (Head of Xbox, Microsoft), Martin Tremblay (President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) and Valve.

The show will have the standard awards, world premieres from key releases, plus a strong focus on developers, community awards and eSports.

There'll also be the chance to attend the event, with tickets going on sale from today on Ticketmaster.

Will you attend this year's Game Awards?
