Mario Kart 8 Wins Children

Mario Kart 8 was crowned the British Academy Children's Award winner for best Game over the weekend.

The awards are a celebration of the very best in children's film, television, games and the people behind them. The ceremony for the 2014 winners took place last night, with Nintendo's Mario Kart 8 taking home the prize. Other finalists included Rayman Legends, Tearaway and Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.

As for the Kids' vote, Minecraft took the BAFTA, with finalists including Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, FIFA 14, Disney Infinity and more.
