Kondo Teams up with Imagine Dragons for Zelda Medley on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Famed Nintendo composer Koji Kondo this week performed with US indie band Imagine Dragons at the Game Awards 2014. Kondo lead a tribute to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, weaving through the haunting fan-favourite "Song of Healing," together with a performance of Imagine Dragons' own track, Demons.

Nintendo also showcased more footage from The Legend of Zelda Wii U adventure with Aonuma and Miyamoto at the helm.

What did you think of the Legend of Zelda performance during Game Awards 2014?

Not the biggest fans of Imagine Dragons - bit sappy, indie rubbish for me. Kondo's performance of Song of Healing was good, but not great either tbh.

I'm a big fan of Imagine Dragons (shame on you God!) , but that performance was not reeking of Imagine Dragons either. I've seen them live and they were one of the most energetic set of musical performers i've seen. So its strange to see them sat down...

To be honest, it is an interesting mix between Nintendo and a music band, feels like 2006-2008 again when Nintendo's PR department actually did some work.

Interesting choice of song...maybe they are trying to tell us that Link is going to be female in the upcoming Zelda U after all!

Really enjoyed this performance, personally. I thought it was amazing.

I'm a pretty big fan of Imagine Dragons and "indie rubbish" in general so I enjoyed this. Smilie

Very atypical for Imagine Dragons though. Interesting combination that I think worked pretty well. Demons was a good choice for this mash-up too.
