The amiibo Situation is Still Unclear Despite Statements from Nintendo on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo Europe has spoken out on rumours that amiibo stock has been cancelled, confirming that more waves of the figures are to come.

The amiibo situation has been confusing for both consumers and retailers, with mixed statements from Nintendo and neither the European nor North American branches issuing much clarity.

In a statement to GameSpot, Nintendo noted how "it's always possible that a few retailers may have sold out" and now the company is "aiming to always have a regular supply of Amiibo brought into the marketplace and there are many waves of amiibo to come."

Despite this, it's still unclear whether some of the freshly released figures will be discontinued in such a short space of time on the market, however.

Which NFC amiibo figures have you collected yet?

I honestly don't understand - there's so much demand, make more. At least have a poll out there to judge the demand. Gawd, Nintendo.

Scaremongering people to buy them to create demand is working but pissing others off! They launched it too late, people will give up the chase for Christmas presents if they can't find them this week!

Nintendo's release of everything other than the smash bros game itself has been a bit ropey. With the Gamecube adapter becoming next to impossible to find, the smash bros controllers hiking in price and the Amiibo shortage it's crazy!

I bought myself a Samus Amiibo today and was glad to be lucky enough to get my controllers and adapter with my preorder however my sister's boyfriend was less fortunate as Amazon sent him the standard edition of smash without the adapter and without his Amiibo.

I own all the consoles, ask me anything
