Nintendo have confirmed solid sales for both Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire across North America.

The Nintendo 3DS duo, remakes of the fan-favourite Game Boy Advance RPGs, touched down on handhelds across the country on 21st November. With vibrant, enriched now 3D graphics, new gameplay features and controls, players can relive the Hoenn experience once again or become a trainer for the first time.

In the first ten days on sale, the game sold nearly 1.5 million combined physical and digital units in the US alone.

In the top ten titles for November 2014, Pokémon Alpha Sapphire came in fifth place, whilst Pokémon Omega Ruby sat in seventh.

As for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the new release saw an impressive start.

Hoenn is my favorite region so of course I was picking Alpha Sapphire up day one. Such a colourful and interesting region compared to the others.

I first saw Japanese scans of the original Ruby and Sapphire in the Nintendo Official Magazine back in 2002 and it was those scans that convinced me to get a GBA a week later. I had loved Yellow and Silver so to see a Pokemon in full colour, 2vs2 battles and cool looking pokemon like Sharpedo and Pelliper was pretty magical to a young me. Smilie
