Pokémon Goes Nuclear in Fan-Project Uranium on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Fans have been working on a new Pokémon title for six years, introducing a different element to the mix: Nuclear.

Dubbed Pokémon Uranium, the game has been crafted by fans to take on real-world places, with brand new, unofficial Pokémon to battle and capture. The game will have the usual eight badge trope, but has a fairly unique storyline: players take on the role of a young 13-year old who's forced out of home due to an unfit parent.

The new Nuclear type is the highlight here, with the team describing these particular critters as "feral, corrupt versions of ordinary Pokemon, who won't listen to a trainer but will attack anything in sight with destructive force." Players will need to think fast, as these Nuclear 'mons are unstable - super-effect against every other type, yet weak to every type as well.

The public beta of Pokémon Uranium is available on the project website.
