Miyamoto: New F-Zero Depends on Right Controller on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Fans are crying out for a new entry in the futuristic F-Zero series, but it all depends on the right controller.

The fast-paced, often tough to play, racing game has been notably absent for some time, having last conquered the living room with F-Zero GX on the GameCube over a decade ago, and on handhelds with F-Zero Climax back in 2004.

In an interview with Smosh, Miyamoto noted how "if we create a new type of controller interface and find that controller interface is particularly suited for F-Zero, then maybe we'll do something again with it in the future."

By the sounds of things, it seems Miyamoto doesn't want to do a straightforward sequel just yet.

Do you think a new controller interface is really needed for a brand new F-Zero game?

FZero in a INSANELY big gta-esq cityscape Smilie (Big as in "the games a whole planet you can race freely about on").

F-Zero Street Races?! Sounds awesome!

I have waited for years for the next installment in my favorite racing franchise, I can wait some more if the results justifies it.

However, I hate bad excuses. F-zero can be done with the gamepad in my opinion. Just say like it is, that you work ok extremely many other projects right now. I can accept it, I can accept that you are busy with games like Zelda and Xenoblade Chronicles X. I can accept that you prioritize other franchises like these and most likely Metroid (I do hope you work on that...) over a new F-zero game. That's how it works, limited time and resources means limited number of games. But do not blame the controller. You could literally take GX and add HD graphics and change the stages and you're done. No need to reinvent a concept that is already working great. Sure, that would be a bonus, but it is not important to those who have waited over a decade for the next installment.

With all of that said... Who is hyped for the great lineup of games 2015 has for us? o.O I know I am...

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.
