New screenshots for Mighty No. 9 showcase just how the side-scrolling shooter is coming along.

Developed by Japanese developer comcept (and Abstraction Games for the 3DS version), the game is being primed for a release this April on multiple formats. Featuring an android chap known as Beck, he embarks on an adventure to fight his fellow rogue robots and discover who is behind a unique computer virus that's taken over the machine world.

Mighty No. 9 will be coming to ten platforms - Linux, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo 3DS, OS X, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

Hopefully this will see a European release around this time too. Unfortunately Azure Striker is still not available in the UK.

Mighty No. 9 looks really cool so far!

This is as close to a new MEGA MAN game as we'll probably ever get.  But this looks great, still.
