Xenoblade Chronicles X Localisation Underway on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Taking to the game's official Twitter page, producer Shingo Kawabata confirms that Xenoblade Chronicles X is already being localised and is on track for a 2015 release in the English-speaking world.

Its predecessor, Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii, caused quite a stir when Nintendo of America chose not to bring it stateside. After a few years and a popular fan campaign, Nintendo eventually released the European localisation of the game in North America.

This time around, it looks like Western fans won't have to wait as long to get their hands on the open-world RPG.

Xenoblade Chronicles is one of my favorite games of all time. I'm so glad they're working on bringing this over soon; I really wasn't expecting it until 2016, so a 2015 release is amazing.

I'm curious as to whether NOA or NOE is handling the localisation. Might be strange to suddenly switch to American accents, but then again, it looks like the United States actually plays a central role in the game's plot, so it might make more sense to go that route.

Regardless, if any of the characters from the first game appear, I hope they get the same actors.

After the recent big layoffs at NOE, I'd be very surprised if they're localising this one. Not expecting a good dub anyway, but I am sad at the thought of no possible quirky Brit accents, like Syrenne's Manc voice : (

As good as Xenoblade Chronicles was, I just can't shake the feeling that this game is going to be a huge let-down. Am I the only one?

Working like a fiend isn't very fun... and surprisingly isn't very fiendish either.

I don't get that impression at all. Any particular reasons?

Last Direct, they said they were hard at work to bring it out everywhere in the world in 2015 but that it might slip past 2015 for us westerners, and it's only now, in January that they confirmed a 2015 release, so I wouldn't expect it shortly after the April release for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. More towards the holiday season for us methinks, it would be surprising that in a few months of time, the game suddenly moved 6 months closer to us for a western release Smilie.

It's a huge game with lots of text and one has to bear in mind that localisation DOES get tested and goes back to be worked on even after it's been seemingly completed, it gets checked for bad text layout, characters being rendered outside text boxes, etc, and it's a long process, especially on such a huge game.

I assume Zelda will be their big holiday hit, so they might aim for September-October for Xenoblade. Of course, there's no rule against releasing two big games during the holiday, but Nintendo has been known to space their games out a little more.
