Xenoblade Chronicles X Has Online, Co-Op, Off TV Play on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

More details on Xenoblade Chronicles X have surfaced, including online and co-operative play.

The ambitious Wii U RPG from Monolith is primed to be the biggest Wii U title to date in terms of online capacity and content on the disc. During a live-stream session today, Nintendo confirmed that up to 32 players can be "passively connected to exchange strategic information or items" online.

There'll also be four player co-operative, 720p output, Off-TV play and support for both the GamePad and Wii U Pro Controller. Those who enjoy a good ol' fashioned chat can also hook up a standard USB keyboard and tap away.

Some storyline details were also touched upon - the game takes place on a planet known as Mira, where the player has inadvertently crashed onto. There are five continents to wander across - "Black Steel", "Primal Wilderness", "White Tree", "Forgotten Canyon" and "Luminous Forest", with the central hub area known as "New Los Angeles".

With the planet being rather large, players can travel quickly across the landscape by using mecha "doll" bots.

Nintendo also touched on just how big the title will be - clocking in at around 22.7GB for the eShop/download version, with the option for folk in Japan to pre-purchase/download ahead of a 29th April release.

This starts to turn into becoming a clear contender as Best Game Ever... I will be sincerely disappointed if it does not live up to this at this point with all the greatness that has been told so far. This is an RPG done right.

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.

"passively connected to exchange strategic information or items"

Probably not the case, but it would be really cool if you could leave notes for eachother on the landscape.

Wow that Xeno balde was great with the Mechs "dolls" as it were, gameplay, vast scenery, and the awsome mutiplayer aspect. ( 32 player comunication !???) even them speaking on ambio support for the 3ds xeno blade plus a release date rocked............Now I just need to learn Japanese......Smilie
