A new world record has been set for nabbing all 151 critters from the very first set of Pokémon games.
The game and franchise's overall challenge, catching them all, is only ever completed by a handful of dedicated fans, but one particular trainer decided to do just that. Under time pressure, speedrunner "Shenanagans Smash" catches all 151 Pokémon by using glitches and well planned movements to clock in at just 2:20:19 (2:16 in game) for the full run.
Glitches and techniques include being able to manipulate the game's memory to warp, catch items and make text faster, and also "Dsum manipulation" to better control wild encounters.
What do you think of this particular speedrun in how the Pokémon are caught?
