The gaming community is abuzz with the launch of the New Nintendo 3DS consoles - but just how well have they done so far? Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata explained all in the company's latest financial results briefing.
Last week, on February 13th, Nintendo unleashed a barrage of new goodies for fans to go rather ga-ga over: The New Nintendo 3DS (in Europe only), The New Nintendo 3DS XL (in Europe/US), The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
Iwata noted how special edition hardware "almost sold out" by the launch date that "many retailers" had closed pre-orders for the much anticipated New Nintendo 3DS bundles.
Nintendo compared figures for the launch week to that of the previous big release - the Nintendo 3DS XL - highlighting a strong start. "Our next challenge is to keep this sales momentum," Iwata concluded.
