Rodea: The Sky Soldier Getting Western Release on Wii U and 3DS on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Rodea: The Sky Soldier has been confirmed for a Western release by publisher NIS America this week.

The title, developed by Kadokawa Games and Prope, has been in limbo for a localised released for some time, but will finally hit European and North American this fall. The game will be available both on the eShop and a physical release for 3DS and Wii U. Reports also suggest that there will be a Wii release in some capacity as well.

Rodea: The Sky Soldier revolves around an abandoned robot that has fallen into disrepair deep within a scorching desert. Upon being repaired by an inventor, this particular machine is revealed to be Rodea - who has been asleep for 1,000 years. However, the evil forces of Naga that have been kept at bay for centuries are now back and it's down to Rodea to step back into action to save the day.

Fatal Frame 2 sold well out here for being Wii exclusive as for the fifth game I really hope they localise it as many fans are trying to get Tecmo to notice that western territories want it!

I mean there is a fan patch for the fourth game and it works on nonhacked Wii consoles so I might pick it up at some point.

The Wii was only outsold after the end of it's lifespan in 2013 and Fatal frame 2 came out in 2012. The WiiU already existed when the 360 took over in the UK. (also the best selling console in the UK is still the PS2!)

Maybe Tecmo has some beef with American sales of their games or something? I'm not sure why Europe and Australia were the only countries outside Japan to get Fatal Frame 2: Wii edition...

Nope the only good game was xenoblade and the crappy wii may had had 2 metroids but guess what? BOTH SUCKED even prime 3<<<<<< prime 2 how sad. oh why am I even arguing wii is the worst nintendo home console of ALL TIME! That system is not worth my time!

Zelda Twilight Princess, Sin and Punishment 2, Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Klonoa, Project Zero 2 (I know the problem here), Resident Evil 1, Zero, Umbrella and Darkside chronicles, Sonic Colours, Fragile Dreams, No More Heroes 1 & 2, Lostwinds, Final Fantasy Christal Chronicles, Final Fantasy Fables, Xenoblade Chroonicles, Monster Hunter Tri, Castlevania the adventure remake, Kirby's Adventure Wii, Mario Kart, Smash Brothers Brawl, Skyward Sword, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Warioland Shake Dimension, DKC Returns, Pikmin 1 & 2 npc, Animal Crossing, Resident Evil 4, Paper Mario, Okami, House of the Dead, Harvest Moon... etc. These are all amazing games that I own and have enjoyed with friends so yeah.

p.s. there is also the entire catalogue of virtual console games.

edit: And one of my favourite games! Muramasa Demon Blade

and Silent Hill shattered memories and Dead Space Extraction, pandora's tower, Last Story, Disaster day of crisis, Fire Emblem, Another Code...

Also BTW I have:
NES, SNES, N64, GCN, Wii and WiiU and the prices on Virtual console are sometimes many times cheaper than a physical cartridge. (Especially in PAL territories)

Sure thing!

The only thing bothering me about Rodea is it's animation sometimes looks a bit PS2 era. I'm sure it'll turn out to be great fun though!
