Nintendo to Produce Extra amiibo for Japan on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Nintendo have been producing additional amiibo figures for release in Japan, the company confirmed this week.

Company president Satoru Iwata did acknowledge the shortages, particularly in the Western market, to investors last month. It seems that the company will be ramping up production for various favourites - including Villager, Little Mac and Captain falcon - to ship mid-May in Japan.

Interestingly some of these figures need to be assembled by hand, which adds a fair bit of time to the production cycle for the much sought after NFC characters.

As for other figures, Nintendo will be "adding production on a case-by-case basis," and have pledged to "listen to the demand of the customers."

Which figures are you missing from your amiibo collection?

So why not redesign them on a different trophy stance or do what they have done with the Super mario bros series and make them simpler. It is good news that they are producing more but I don't buy the fact that production is a problem. I bet there are hundreds of plants wanting to make these so Nintendo have got options, I bet this is them being over cautious and being careful not flood the market with amiibo!
