Trine: Enchanted Edition Gets A Release Date For Wii U on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Fans of the Trine series can rejoice in the news that, having already enjoyed the highly decorated Trine 2: Directors Cut, they will have the opportunity to play through the origin story of Frozenbyte's epic title.
Players will journey through the prequel, which chronicles the beginnings of our now familiar protagonists: Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight and Zoya the thief.

Frozenbyte have confirmed, Wii u owners awaking in North America this Morning can indeed download themselves the highly critical and eagerly awaited title, from Nintendo's e-shop. Unfortunately as is the case more often than not, European gamers will have to wait a while longer, as no release date for these shores have yet been announced. Frozenbyte did however promise that the European release would only be "shortly delayed"

"We're extremely happy and excited to finally bring the origin story of the Trine series to Wii U. We've had a great reception with Trine 2: Director's Cut ever since the launch of the console," comments Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvärinen. "To reward our loyal fans on Wii U, we came up with the Trine Series Fan Discount, a promotion that hopefully makes up for the delays we've had with the release!"

The discount in question, rewards players who have previously purchased Trine 2: Directors Cut, with 20% off the price of Enchanted edition. So if further incentive was needed to pick up Frozenbyte's excellent prequel: there it is. Now if we can just get that European release date...
