Famous Mecha Designer Shows Off Xenoblade on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Takayuki Yanase is well known in the anime world, he has designed some iconic creations and has a considerable resume, it's likely that if you have watched any Mecha anime recently you would have seen some of his work. He has worked on recent series like Break Blade and Valvrave has been superb, with some fantastic designs and now he's working on Xenoblade Chronicles for the designs of the "Doll" mechs.

You can certainly see his style in the designs, there's a familiarity with his previous works combined with the series own style.

The official Japanese site for the game has been updated with a glimpse into his designs, you can see the rest here. A rough design for each of the six Dolls in the image above along with the final draft of this image.

Japan will be getting their collective hands on this game in a few weeks on April 29th, unfortunately for those of us in the West there is no set release date yet, hopefully we'll learn more at E3 in a few weeks.

What do you think of the designs? Were you a fan of his other works? Let us know in the comments.
