Nintendo Showcases The World of Xenoblade Chronicles X on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

In a video presentation and live session, Nintendo showcased elements of the Xenoblade Chronicles X landscape.

During the video players were treated to a plethora of new footage of the Wii U-exclusive adventure, including a glimpse of the vast world of planet Mira, combat and customisation with the Treehouse Team.

There was also a look at the towering mech called "Dolls" ("Skells" in the localised version), which can traverse the land with ease. The five continents will be unlocked at the start, however Nintendo are urging adventures to proceed with caution - as there will be beasts that are a touch too strong in places, so players will need to ensure that they're tough enough to battle through.

Xenoblade Chronicles X will be available in Japan on 29th April.

It looks great. A little sad that they rename the dolls in the localized version though as I truly loved that name for them.

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.

Can't wait for this myself; i was really looking forward to this more than zelda at one point. Hopefully it will deliver!

I hear you are not a fan of dolls... Smilie When I think of dolls I think of pretty small ones made of glass or finer plastic with nice Victorian dresses or Joint-Ball dolls or what they are called which are also extremely pretty.

Might just be me who am weak to dolls though. Smilie

I was thinking about naming my robots to (if they are several slots) Victoria VIII, Victoria XVI and finally Victoria LXIIII... Might still do it. Smilie But still wish they were called dolls. I might be the only one though as I am extremely weak to pretty dolls.

I actually liked the term Doll too! I think the only thing i was disappointed with was the character models, which i felt were a bit too simplistic and resembled something more out of the wii. However, the rest of the game looks stunning! I hope it lives up to the hype and at the very least tides me over until retro release, Metroid? it has too happen...surely?
