Yooka-Laylee is the Spiritual Banjo-Kazooie Successor on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

From the character artist behind Banjo, Kazooie and the rebooted Donkey Kong, comes Yooka-Laylee.

Previously known as Project Ukulele, the concept is being pitched as the "spiritual-successor" to the fan-favourite Nintendo 64 platforming duo, Banjo-Kazooie, featuring a heap of classic 3D roaming.

The studio have posted the initial gameplay snippet over at IGN, plus the first look at the game's dual protagonists - a bat called Laylee and chameleon known as Yooka. The pair team up to fight enemies, navigate the world - much like the bear and bird of old.

Starting 5pm BST on Friday, the team will also launch a kickstarter campaign for Yooka-Laylee.

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.

It's looking absolutely brilliant, and I believe it's only been 3 months of work on it?

Grant Kirkhope posted a short clip of some music last night and it sounded classic Kirkhope style, like it was ripped straight out of a Banjo game. Absolutely perfect!

Yeah, the music brought a massive smile to my face. I wanna play Banjo again lol.

Game looks very pretty. Hopefully plays just as good.

Can't wait for this!

I own all the consoles, ask me anything
